Chico is a sweet 8-year-old Chihuahua who needs a forever home. He has all his shots and is microchipped. Rabies shots are good until next year. He is on heartworm prevention and is crate trained but would love to sleep in your bed too. I took Chico in as a foster about a year ago when I lived in PA. His owner was too old to keep him, so he let me take him in. On acquiring Chico, he was very overweight. He has lost 7 lbs. and is down to 10 lbs. now. He could go down another pound. He gets frightened and is slow to warm up but very, very loving. He gets along well with other dogs and used to live with a cat that he ignored. He loves walks, is good in the car, does not mind doggie clothes. Furthermore he has been learning the commands, sit, down and sit up. He also jumps for joy over food, bouncing off my legs. I would recommend an adult household as that is all he knows. I moved to Dearborn to find the dog limit per household is three. With Chico I have four. Recently, he has gotten protective & does, will try to nip stranger’s ankles but redirects immediately with a verbal correction. He loves to chase squirrels.
