Gracie is a sweet, high-energy dog who has not proven to be a great fit for our family. She loves playing fetch, tug of war, going for walks, and just being generally active. She is very agile and would be a great partner to take on hikes, runs, or walks. Gracie has gotten along great with other dogs, including our own, and I’m confident she would do well with other medium/large size dogs. She is very loving towards people.
Gracie would be best suited to a home without young children or small pets. She chases our cat rather aggressively and they don’t co-exist well. She also had one biting incident with our 4 year old son…it was a quick reactionary bite when he was playing with her a little too rough. Otherwise, she has shown no general aggression towards people whatsoever.
While the family is at school/work, Gracie is extremely well-behaved. She has shown no destructive behavior at all when left alone, she pretty much just lays around and waits for us all to get home. She tolerates a crate well, actually likes to sleep in it, but we don’t use it much because she is an angel while we are gone.
I think Gracie’s ideal forever home would be somewhere she can get more activity and exercise than we can give her during the day. It would also be a home without small children or other small pets.
We adore this dog, but realize we can’t provide her with an ideal environment right now.
