Lucy is a sweet and loving cat. She gets along great with other cats and humans. She has never once clawed or bit me or any furniture and never picks fights with my senior cat. Unfortunately, when we moved to our new home two years ago, we didn’t realize how many stray cats would roam near our home. On a daily basis, we see at least 10-12 cats meowing at our windows, pawing at our doors, and crying outside. This has caused Lucy a great deal of stress as she becomes fearful of the strays and becomes territorial. Similarly, my elder cat has become territorial and has been aggressively attacking her daily since we moved in an attempt to assert dominance as he too sees the cats outside and takes it out on her. I am unable to move from my home, and I recently became pregnant, which I have noticed has caused her additional stress for unknown reasons. I fear I must separate the two, and I would like to keep my senior cat as he has more health needs and would be harder to rehome. I am hoping to find her a home where there are not dozens of cats outside causing her to feel threatened. I’ve tried various methods to calm her down, however I fear her quality of life is so poor here that she would genuinely be happier at another home. It breaks my heart to see my sweet girl live in constant fear, but I know she is not happy here.
