Meet Gunther! He is a loving and loyal Corgi-Pitty mix (wild combo!) who’s meant the world to me for the past 7 years and who now needs a new home for the next season of his life. The reason is, we moved in with my fiancé last year, and we have been unable to successfully integrate him with our cats.
Aside from being devastatingly adorable, Gunther is a joy on walks and at the dog park. He is also a great dog for someone who works full-time. He can be left alone for 8 hours and has never destroyed anything in any of our homes, and he is 100% housebroken. He also gets along very well with kids, particularly my 18-month-old nephew. Although he is not crate-trained, he follows “go to bed” commands, as well as a series of other simple commands. He is also undyingly loyal to humans once he gets to know them a little.
It is also important to share that Gunther has a history of trauma. When I adopted him, he’d been found on the side of the road with two broken legs. I do not know what happened to him before he entered my life, and he does have some fear-based anxiety, but he showed major improvement after being prescribed Reconcile (Fluoxetine).
