Big Heart Award

Friend’s for Animals of Metro Detroit’s

Big Heart Award

The Big Heart Award is given to recognize the dedication and compassion of an individual who unselfishly gives their time and talent to saving and providing sanctuary to animals. The Big Heart Award is given annually, with the recipient traditionally being honored at the Black Tie & Tails gala in October.

To be considered for this award, nominees must meet several criteria. They must:

  • Exemplify the mission of Friends, which is to provide loving care and sanctuary to animals, encourage adoptions and reunions, and promote respect, responsibility and compassion for all animals.
  • Exemplify true support of the humane treatment of animals, through thought, word and deed, whatever the circumstance.
  • Consistently donate time, support, financial resources and/or talent to facilitate or further the cause of animal welfare.
