At 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, FAMD hosted a news conference and donor reception for phase 2 groundbreaking at the MaryAnn Wright Animal Adoption and Education Center in Dearborn. In attendance were Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin, city officials, including Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, board members, including Board Chair MaryAnn Wright, volunteers and supporters, and the entire FAMD staff.

Representatives from the Detroit News, Dearborn Press & Guide, “News radio 950 WWJ ,” CDTV – City of Dearborn Television, and FOX 2 were present to document the event.

The conference stressed the call-to-action to close the gap in funding to finish this important work of uniting all staff and animals under one roof at the new center.

“This new facility is giving love room to grow, adding 10,000 sq. ft. to continue our mission with all operations under one roof. We need your help to finish the center and be ready for move-in by the end of 2023!”

The MaryAnn Wright Animal Adoption and Education Center, located at 16121 Reckinger Road, Dearborn, MI 48126, is celebrating its 5th Anniversary on September 23. Stay tuned for programming.
